Proiek:: is a company that opts for a new concept of solutions, product and service, within the field of public furniture and architecture where the keynote is stainless steel.

Proiek bases its philosophy on 4 fundamental pillars:

• Project design and culture as an attitude and methodology of work, understanding process as a value in itself.
• The experience and industrial capacity of the MCC (Mondragon Cooperative Corporation), which today constitutes the foremost business group in the Basque Country and the seventh in Spain, with a significant presence in the financial, industrial and distribution sectors.
• A solid reputation in materials, always choosing quality products, with little need for maintenance and high resistance.
• Adaptation to human needs; a vocation to address social needs and to be conscious of accessibility and environmental sensitivity, placing ideas and objects at the service of people and their place of location.

Areas of work:

• Public furniture: contemporary (a wide catalogue of author products by first class architects statewide and internationally); urbanotics (a set of intelligent systems that offer services for energy management, health and safety, wellbeing / comfort and communication adapted to user needs in public spaces).
• Architecture: micro-architecture (light architecture); singular projects (sculptural designs); facades (showcase buildings).

R&D department

Proiek has “Engineering” and “Design and Innovation” departments for the overall development of projects, from the conception of the idea, to its industrialisation. These teams are made up of 10 people, amongst whom are to be found Industrial Design Experts, Physicians, Electronic Engineers, IT Management Experts and Advanced Industrial Engineers.

Work team involved in DISONANCIAS

Coordination of the project will be the responsibility of Proiek’s “Design and Innovation” and “Marketing” departments and will receive collaboration from Proiek’s “engineering” department, as well as from outside agents from other companies.

Investigation to be developed

The project to be realized within DISONANCIAS is called urbanotics:: a set of intelligent systems that offer services for energy management, health and safety, well-being / comfort and communication adapted to user needs in public spaces.

The generic lines of action are:
• control-free control area
• management area
• environmental area
• encounter point

Within the framework of urbanotics::, the aim is to make the design and development of a “prototype” encounter point for a customer city, which could be extrapolated to other cities of the same kind. As defined above, this encounter point is principally based on a combination of urbanotic public furniture designed for people’s wellbeing during their leisure, training and work time.

For this purpose, the investigation will initially concentrate on types of cities and the relations that exist between them.
