EZARRI S.A. is engaged in the manufacture and marketing of glass mosaics. These are made from recycled glass, which constitutes 95% of the whole product. After a process of crushing and milling, the resulting recycled glass powder is coloured, pressed and baked to obtain the mosaics. At the moment there are two main applications for our product, the most important of which, in terms of market quantity, is in linings for swimming pool shells. The other application takes in decorative coverings for bathrooms, changing rooms, kitchens, and similar.
EZARRI S.A. was created in 1979 and today has a workforce of 77 workers. Its productive installations have been totally renovated, as the company moved in the year 2000 from its old premises at Ikaztagieta to the 10.500 m2 building in the town of Lazkao in which its activities are currently carried out.
The geographical ambit covered by its sales encompasses a total of 70 different countries, and the firm’s export share reaches 50%.
Department under whose aegis the research will be carried out
The R+D+i department's main mission is to provide support for the commercial department with regard to the obtaining of new products or special finishes for their mosaics, in order to offer their customers a broader and more interesting range. The unit also collaborates with the production department in the continuous improvement of our production processes.
Team that will collaborate with the artist
The artist will be able to count on collaboration from a multidisciplinary team from Ezarri, led by the Manager, and in which the Commercial Director, the Innovation Director, the Industrial Director and the company’s Communications Officer will take part.
They do not rule out the possible incorporation of other individuals who might contribute their knowledge to the development of this project as it proceeds.
As external support agents, a prestigious research centre from within their geographical milieu and a material testing laboratory will make their services available.
Projected investigation
To research into new uses or new applications for glass mosaic and/or recycled glass, preferably but not exclusively based on technologies used by EZARRI. Solutions can be considered both for industrial applications and for tailor-made applications (made to order).
Type of exploitation of result
EZARRI S.A. chooses option B, so that ownership of the exploitation rights falls to the company. It proposes to pay the artist at a fixed price in line with the eventual marketing of the project developed. The total remuneration payable will be € 12,000, which the artist will receive on the basis of a 5% commission on registered turnover.

hola mariela, te adjunto respuesta de EZARRI: Os informo que trabajamos con una carta de colores fija sobre la cual realizamos las tiradas de producción. A parte de los colores que aparecen en nuestros catálogos de venta, tenemos internamente más colores que utilizamos para los dibujos especiales que hacemos. El cliente puede pedir combinaciones de colores bajo una cantidad mínima de pedido en función del número de colores diferentes que incluya en la mezcla. A partir de 96 M2 de pedido podemos mezclar colores. En estos momentos estamos abiertos a amoldarnos a las necesidades más particulares de los clientes. Si se requieren tiradas de producción más pequeñas nos prepararíamos para ello. Si utilizamos nuestra carta de colores en las mezclas es más sencillo adaptarse a pedidos pequeños. El mayor inconveniente vendría si queremos obtener un color especial fuera de nuestra carta de colores. Tendríamos que pedir al proveedor de colorantes pigmentos para intentar obtener el color deseado, realizar las pruebas convenientes (el color no suele salir generalmente en la primera prueba), y tras la viabilidad técnica, solicitar la aprobación del cliente. Luego pasaríamos a realizar la producción del pedido. Con respecto al soporte sobre el cual colocar nuestros mosaicos, hasta el momento siempre han sido sólidos. Nuestros mosaicos NO son traslúcidos. Espero haber resuelto las dudas de Mariela y aprovecho para insistir en nuestra disponibilidad para cualquier aclaración adicional que pueda requerir tanto Mariela como cualquier otro artista interesado en nuestros mosaicos.

gusto de escribirles, quisiera saber si la producción de los mosicos se hace por tiraje al cual se le puede cambiar la carta de colores, o cuanto es el tireje menor por color, ya que en mi propuesta necesito utilizar variaciones de color que generalmente son unicas debido a la propuesta artìstica, y la otra pregunta se refiere a si siempre deben ser colocadas sobre un soporte solidocomo paredes o puede estar suspendido (soportado por estructura como los vitrales) para aprovechar su translucidez gracias Mariela Gonzàlez MARACAIBO VENEZUELA

Hola Renny, Al menos que tengas una pregunta técnica muy concreta, deberías de formular tu ante-proyecto con los datos que se encuentran tanto en la web de DISONANCIAS como en la de EZARRI. Te recuerdo que el plazo para presentar tu candidatura es el 7 de julio 9h.
