BULTZAKI S.L. is a family firm dedicated to the manufacture of wire and tubing, involving the design and production of pieces from rough wire, or from metal tube, hot or cold rolled. Its product range runs from traditional compression, traction and torsion springs, to rod and tube pieces, all in three dimensions, as well as the manufacture of subsets (assembly of various pieces between them). The pieces are destined for very demanding sectors such as the aerospace, defence, automotion, and electrical-electronic sectors.

The firm’s technology in this field is considered to be the most advanced in Europe, and its export share stands at 25%. In addition to the flexibility and quality of its products, its strongest point lies in its constant search for new avenues of innovation. And the average age of the 50 people who make up the workforce of BULTZAKI is 33, a positive feature that denotes a young dynamic company.

Its participation in the DISONANCIAS programme is driven by an urge to keep innovating. Up to now a good deal of the effort invested in innovation was very much geared to the production and manufacture of products or of its own production machines; BULTZAKI is currently in pursuit of innovation that is oriented more towards new uses for its products or for its technologies. It is a question of opening up the industrial activity the company is engaged in, aided by “new eyes” and a new dimension of seeing.

Research department

BULTZAKI’s R+D+i has always been geared towards production, from the manufacture of machines of a productive kind to internal improvements and the manufacture of control tools.

The department has its own production machines, with three professionals committed on a full time basis.

Team involved in the DISONANCIAS project

The team is comprised of the manager’s assistant (advanced industrial engineer), the finance director (business studies graduate), the commercial director (business studies graduate with an MA in Global Marketing), and the director of R+D+i (advanced industrial engineer).

Concept to investigate

The investigation of new uses for wire forming and tubes, favouring interactive applications with people and environments. The approach will concentrate more on investigating use than material.
