Main Activity

FUNDACIÓN LANTEGI BATUAK is a non-profit organisation that generates the most normalised as possible work opportunities in order to obtain optimum development for people with preferably intellectual disabilities in Bizkaia. These opportunities are generated by creating and managing industrial and service activities that allow people to follow a socio-work insertion itinerary, ranging from orientation/training in special employment occupational centres to “normal” employment. Over 2,000 people with disabilities currently work in Lantegi Batuak for over 500 clients (companies and institutions) in Bizkaia.

Concept to Investigate

Look for new relationship spaces between LANTEGI BATUAK and the social framework of the territory where it carries out its activity (Bizkaia). After 25 years of working in the field of job integration for people with disabilities, innovation is undergoing a social change in the sense of bringing together the work of people with disabilities working and living in Bizkaia to society in general. It is about looking for new bonding connections that will allow for greater social inclusion of people with disabilities, beyond that of job integration.

Team to Collaborate with Artists

A multidisciplinary team formed by:

• Coordinator of new projects in relation to technologies of support, adjustment and adapting job posts for people with disabilities and other technical support;
• Head of prevention service and expert in ergonomics;
• Head of communication, to work in constant contact with the media and other social agents in the territory, as well as handling internal communication;
• Head of the Plazakola workshop in Markina, who earlier worked as the head of gardening and cleaning services and has experienced the full process of the social transformation of the organisation;
• Managing director of Lantegi Batuak.
