Main Activity

Formed in 1977, LANIK is primarily dedicated to structural systems from design to manufacture and assembly. LANIK works with various of its own exclusive patent systems (ORTZ, SEO, MONOCAPA), which basically consist of spherical nodes and tubular bars screwed together. These systems allow for great versatility in structural solutions for the construction of enclosures for large areas, with the ability to be applied in very diverse architectural structures, such as sports or cultural pavilions, trade fair halls, industrial and commercial facilities and airports, etc. The company has also developed a system of mobile enclosures called PARPADO. Forty-two people work in the company’s main offices and 18 people in the production plant for spatial structures.

Concept to Investigate

Investigate possible applications of the concept of TRANSFORMABLE ARCHITECTURE, based mainly but not exclusively on systems developed by LANIK and paying special attention to industrial application sectors. Aiming to investigate uses more than the material.

Team to Collaborate with Artists

The artists work with a multidisciplinary team comprising the R&D director, sales director, project head of Spatial Structures and the director of the company. Other people may be incorporated into the team depending on the project to be developed. In terms of the equipment used by LANIK, it is worth mentioning that calculus and design structure is carried out using the company’s own software.
