Carme Romero Lleida, 1973

Since 2000, Carme Romero has been combining her artistic activity based on the design and creation of experimental video games with her work in artistic production management for the visual art production centre HANGAR.

In her games, she simulates compulsive mass phenomena such as consumption and its effects on the construction of individual subjectivities, in this way carrying out small experiments.

Her work is characterised by a parodic, irreverent and critical attitude, almost belonging to cartoon humour, towards contemporary social phenomena and the world of video games as a cultural phenomenon.

Highlights of her projects include the game Shoplifting 2, which is set in a shopping centre and questions the system of consumption.
