What is DISONANCIAS?

Imagen

DISONANCIAS is a platform aimed at companies, research centres or public entities interested in collaborating with artists in order to promote their innovation.

Artists as researchers
It is based on the premise that artists are researchers by definition. Within the framework of collaborating with organisations, they are able to propose new and different innovation paths, introducing detours and dissonance into the usual processes of thought and action, providing creativity and work methodologies and serving as a catalyst for team members.

Real demand
After four years of experience, over 40 developed projects and many international programme exchanges, it has been shown that there is a real demand not only by companies needing creativity, but also by artists wanting to interact in broader fields than the strictly cultural. This exchange has an unquestionable benefit for both parties and is important for diversifying innovation processes.

Open collaborative innovation as a tool for change
DISONANCIAS aims to have an effect on so-called “open collaborative innovation”, a innovation paradigm in which there is an interaction between agents that goes beyond that of transaction or commission and in which the final results benefit both parties. The DISONANCIAS platform views innovation not as an end in itself, but as a tool to change ways of acting, attitudes and values, beyond that of economic benefit.

Extending innovation culture
In the long term, DISONANCIAS aims to transmit to society the importance of developing creative environments and extending innovation culture in all its aspects, as well as promoting social responsibility in organisations and a commitment of artists with society.

DISONANCIAS acts as a mediator

  • Creating a support framework for knowledge exchange and the creation of innovation processes between artists and organisations.
  • Generating a methodology to facilitate teamwork and allow for an interaction between programme participants.
  • Maintaining project monitoring.
  • Proposing management and evaluation tools.

Evaluating projects helps to create a manual of best practices in innovation from which all platform participants can benefit. Similarly, jointly agreed upon monitoring indicators can be established for each experience to help organisations measure the impact that the developed project has had on them.

Results

Research carried out within the framework of DISONANCIAS provides different results depending on the basis of the research concepts. We can distinguish two levels of results:

  • Results associated with the actual object of the research: Introduction of changes in work processes or in ways of relating to the environment; configuration of new products or services, new applications for technologies or material.
  • Results associated with attitudes and values in work teams: Changes in the manner of developing their activity, and in their way of perceiving it; questioning of the established, changes in value perceptions, development of their own creative capacities, adoption of new attitudes in the face of change.

We propose here 4 possible options regarding the exploitation of the results of the collaborations between artists and companies.
