Disonancias

The 2009 comes loaded with projects: we have 13 investigations under way and others to launch, we will participate in various european forums, we will continue with Artsactive.net and many other things that we will tell you. DISONANCIAS_Catalunya 2008/09 juror meets these days in Barcelona to select the best offers for the hosting companies of this first edition. Thank you to all the artists that have applied.

DISONANCIAS will be present, on friday 12 december, in the hands of Yp and the Generalitat of Catalonia, on the conference Entrepreneurship and the emerging creation that suggests a dialogue about the relationship of artists with the private sector. 

POLA, an artistic cultural cooperative located in Bordeaux (France), is organising a seminar around new artistic practices, on 3 and 4 December, in which we will intervene as guests to a round table with representatives from the French gallery Cortex Athlético, the association Mécènes du Sud, the CAPC, Centre of Contemporary Art, Bordeaux, and Zebra 3.

DISONANCIAS will be present on monday 25 november during the conference Socially Responsible Culture and Economies: Beyond Patronage, organised by the Malaga County Council, and on thursday 27 november we will be present during the first conference on Creative Citizens organised by the Kreanta Foundation, together with the Sitges City Council.

Ania Bas, an artist who participated in the last edition of DISONANCIAS, has been invited to take part in an entrepreneurial day school organised by the University of Deusto on 18 November in San Sebastian, with the collaboration of iNNoVaNDIS and Gaze.

DISONANCIAS presents its experience during the seminar about Industries, Culture and Innovation organized by Nord-Pas de Calais Region, with the collaboration of Le Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts contemporains, and Ars Industrialis, on november the 12th in the French city of Lille.

YP presents on November the 6th at CCCB in Barcelona its research about Innovation in Culture: A Critical Approach to the Genealogy and Uses of the Concept, based on examples of specific projects like DISONANCIAS.

We have just published the catalogue of the 2007/08 round. You can download it here, or buy it sending us a message to info[at]disonancias.com. It includes interviews by partipating artists and companies, and texts by YP and François Deck.

Participants of the Euskadi round 2008/09 of DISONANCIAS meet the 21^st and 22^nd of october in Bilbao to launch their collaboration projects. A bingo, a museum and a theater are the venues where the first methodology seminar takes place.

On Monday October 6, at 12am, Lantegi Batuak and Amasté will present the project "I did this!" they started within DISONANCIAS, at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.

The journal Filter (Australia) recently published an interesting article about the setting up of Artsactive.net, an international network that establishes contact between artists and science and industry research units from all over the world, and about the challenges facing this project in the future. The purpose of this call for applications is to select artists to produce interventions of a temporary or ephemeral nature aimed at contributing to activate the public space. Open until September 10, 2008. Download the participation bases.

The call for artists to develop research projects with companies and organizations located in the Basque Country during the 2008/09 round is closed. The jury has selected various proposals for each host entity, and it will be the own company that will take the final decision.

Next October the selected artists will be announced. Thank you to all the artists that have applied, the level of the proposals was very high this year.

The summons of Dissonances 2008/09 have managed to attract 157 international artists. All of them have presented specific offers to collaborate with one of eight companies and Basque organizations from October, 2008 of an individual way, in case of 46 offers, and collective, in 84 cases.

The juror composed by Jorge Luis Marzo, Juan Freire, Ana Betancourt and Conxita Oliver meets these days in Donostia-San Sebastian Sebastián to select the best offers for the hosting companies of this third edition.

The wishing artists come from 22 different countries, with the participation of numerous artists from Germany, USA, France and United Kingdom.
